Project Overview

Needs Assessment

The project is needed to provide more capacity to the roadway. The reevaluation is necessary due to the increase in right-of-way costs and the need to develop a typical section and preferred alignment that will reduce right-of-way costs.

Planning, Design, Right of Way and Construction

The preparation of construction plans for the widening of US 41 Venice Bypass from four to six lanes is ongoing while a reevaluation is being completed. The right-of-way acquisition and construction phases are not scheduled in the Florida Department of Transportation’s Tentative Five-Year Work Program.

Project Overview

The project includes the reevaluation of the original Project Development and Environmental study of 1994 and design improvements to US 41 (Venice Bypass) from Center Road to south of US 41 Business North. This 2.5-mile segment is projected to be widened from four to six lanes.
